Creating chamfers
You can transform any corner point in existing geometry into a chamfer.
To create a chamfer:

Select the chamfer tool from the Sketch view toolbar or the Draw menu.

Select the point at the corner you want to transform into a chamfer.

The corner point is transformed into a chamfer, as shown in the example below.
Note that:

Transforming the corner point into a chamfer results in a new line segment constrained by two equal-length angle dimensions to the connected lines.

The angles default to 45 degrees (135 from the inside corners), but may be changed if desired. You may also use the CW/CCW and supplementary angle tools in the Properties Explorer, just as for any other angle.

The constraints added for the chamfer do not affect your DOF.

Any dimensions associated with the corner point, such as the linear dimension on the left in our example, continue to be measured to the corner point.
