Setting default tolerances for models
You can change the default tolerances values that will be used in your models instead of using the system defaults and manually changing the values.
You access default tolerance settings by selecting Default Tolerances... from the Edit menu. This opens the Set Model Default Tolerances dialog.
From the Set Model Default Tolerances dialog, you can:
- Select a tolerance standard
- Change default tolerance values for constraints and dimensions
- Change default Cp values to apply to derived dimensions and contributors
For any default settings you specify:
- The defaults apply only to the current model, so you can have different default settings in other models as needed.
- You can choose to reuse custom default settings in other models.
- Model instances retain the tolerance defaults from their master model. This enables you to set model defaults for an assembly file without affecting its model instances.
- Tolerances applied to specific objects override the default tolerances.
- You can return to the original system default values at any time by clicking Reset.
