This section reflects additions or changes that apply to Enventive Concept v4.2 and later. Concept v4.2 improved support for circular datums.

Concept 4.3 added the ability to use the datum tool to drag dimensions and datums.

Datums can be placed on lines and circles. Apply datums before adding position constraints to your sketch. You must also apply datums before converting orientation constraints to FCFs.

To place a datum:

Select the datum tool from the Sketch view toolbar.
In the sketch, select the line or circle on which to place the datum.

The datum symbol appears in the sketch on the referenced line. You can move the datum symbol up, down, left, and right along its leader line for better visibility.

When a datum is used in conjunction with a position or orientation constraint, a feature control frame is created.
