Placing Grid (x,y) dimensions
Grid dimensions let you measure the x,y distance between two points relative to the angle of a selected line.
To create a grid dimension:

Select the Grid Dimension tool
from the
Sketch view toolbar. -
Select two points to measure the distance between them, parallel and perpendicular to a line you will select next as the grid line.

Select the line to use as the grid line.
The following example shows the results of placing a grid dimension on the upper and lower points of the left line of the triangle, relevant to the red line. The two dimensions, one for parallel and one for perpendicular, are added to the parameter table.
