About equations

Concept combines geometric modeling and general-purpose equations into a new kind of model. The Concept equation solver solves both geometric and non-geometric equations. As a result, you can add functional properties to your models.

Adding equations to your model is easy, and you can mix and match dimensions and variables in equations. To more easily manage equations, you can organize them into groups.

You use the Equation table in the Math view to view, add, edit, and delete equations:

You can enter and view comments for equations by clicking the comments button at the top of the Equation table.
You can toggle the format for viewing equations as described in Changing the format for viewing equations.
You can toggle whether an equation is active by clicking in the equation's On checkbox. Valid equations are active by default.
